If you’re leaning towards coaching, you are in the right place. Here we can explore what makes you deeply happy (and how to get more of it).

My philosophy is that deep happiness, the kind of full body fulfillment where you feel, without a doubt, that you are doing what you are meant to do in the world… that can only come when you are living in a way that is aligned with your authentic values, and your authentic self.

If you’re experiencing the dull pain of “something isn’t right but I can’t put my finger on it,” or if you have to repeat to yourself “I can’t complain. My life is pretty good. But…”

Then your alignment has gone off track. It happens a lot — we’re pulled away from who we naturally are by society, circumstances, stories and familial or cultural beliefs. Our work together starts by bringing you back to your core values and your truest self. From there, we can form a plan to get you from feeling stuck to feeling more yourself than you ever have.

Listen – Stuck is not a place you want to stay. I know because I was there.

I used to work in a place where my coworkers would say things like “I wish I could start my own practice.” Or, on bad days, “I wish I could move to a tropical island!”

They would wish and wish, and they were surrounded by other people who would wish and wish.

But none of them saw that it was possible to live in a different way.

That it was possible to open their own practice. On a tropical island, if that’s where their spirits led them!

We are only truly stuck when we don’t believe change is possible.

Seriously, your wildest dreams — they are more attainable and realistic than you think. We tend to underestimate ourselves.

I know there’s a secret whisper in your soul saying “this is a nice life. But it’s not my life.” I know this, because you wouldn’t be here otherwise.

You’re feeling stuck, maybe even trapped.
You can’t complain – it’s not that bad. Maybe you just need to suck it up.
But it’s starting to affect your mental health, self-esteem or relationships.
Sometimes, you get in the car and just want to keep driving.

I promise, I’m not reading your mind. I know this because I heard that whisper too, while working as a cog-in-the-wheel. “I wish.” I felt like I wasn’t living my own story; I was living someone else’s. And it was a fine story! But it wasn’t the right story for me.

So much of happiness is finding what isn’t a fit, and then finding what is a fit.

I can help you see the possibilities that may not have occurred to you, and together, we can clarify and narrow down your wishes into something specific enough to act on.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to tell you to leave your job, your spouse, your country, or blow up your life — you’re the one leading this journey. And it doesn’t need to be a radical overhaul.

I’m the one helping you find *your* way.

Let me tell you what I found when I went my way.

I left that freedom-sucking job and moved to Vancouver, a city that excites me, that matches my energy. And, I love the work I do now, running my own counselling practice and coaching people to turn their dreams into their real lives. It’s the most deeply fulfilling, soul-nourishing work I’ve ever done. I’d say I’m about… 200% happier.

It’s not like I left all my troubles behind.

Living aligned hasn’t erased every uncomfortable emotion or blessed me with the unblemished skin of a 25 year old. But I am in a place that reflects me, that’s good for me, and makes me happy. And career-wise?

Oh my goodness.

To have freedom over my schedule and work with people I genuinely enjoy?

(Can you see me grinning right now? Because I am grinning.)

It’s the best feeling in the world. And I want that for you. But, you have to do more than wish for it…

Coaching with Jill - What we do and how we do it

• I offer hourly one-to-one coaching and sets of 6 sessions – you choose what size container is right for you

• If you have a specific goal already that you’d like accountability and support to achieve, we’ll set up a roadmap with tasks, milestones and deadlines if they’re helpful. And, when obstacles arise (as they do), I’ll be here to help you troubleshoot them so you don’t lose momentum.

• If you’re feeling stuck and don’t know exactly how to get unstuck, then we’ll start there. So often, we are too close to our problems to see them clearly. That’s when an outside perspective can help you form a clearer vision.

I am here to help you find the life that is aligned with who you really are, and what you truly value.

Me? I value freedom (can you tell?). I love having my own business and geographical independence – I can work from anywhere with a wifi connection. But, you may value stability, and that’s equally valid. Whatever your values are, whatever will make you happy, I believe you deserve to find it.

I am here to help you clarify your vision and build a strategy so you can live your values. Whatever they may be.

Should I do counselling or coaching with you?

Counselling is ideal if you need to unpack your thoughts and emotions and untangle the threads of patterns you keep repeating, so you know where they came from, what purpose they served. It’s an important part of the healing process to understand and find greater empathy for yourself. And, becoming more aware of the reasons behind your behaviors and reactions can help you begin to change them.

Coaching has an entirely different goal. If Counselling is how you got here, then coaching is about where you’re going next and how to get there.

Coaching is for you if…

  • You are goal oriented and ready to take action (even tiny actions – they add up)
  • You would be goal oriented if you knew what your goals were! (Confusion is fine, we’ll clear it up)
  • You’ve done enough self-work to know where you’ve been and why, and now you’re ready to explore what’s next
  • You’re feeling stuck and need a plan and support to move forward (and forward is absolutely where you want to go)

Counselling may be what you need right now if…

  • You need time and a safe container to process thoughts, feelings and experiences
  • You need to explore how these have been affecting you in your daily life, and get insight into why
  • You’re experiencing anxiety, depression, or postpartum depression, and before you can move forward, you need to unpack why these are showing up in your life
